This year, the East of the River Boys & Girls Steelband will celebrate its 30th Anniversary. The Steelband was the dream and work of Dr. Gladys Whitworth Bray. Building on her foundation, we continue to provide youth with music training, life skills and cultural education.
Fête 30! Celebrating Youth, Communities and Cultures will herald the success of youth participants, current and alumni, the communities east of the Anacostia River and our culture in the diaspora. On Saturday, September 23, 2023, 6:00 pm, we will host a gala reception and performance. Stay tuned!!
